Sectarian Riots such as during the Partition ...

-Rajinder Nijjar, U.K.
Hi,

Sectarian Riots such as during the Partition and 1984 killing are the making of greedy people who have no religious light but theDarkness of Mammon. People who feed them are to be blamed. During Partition of India, my late father turned a party of attackers from foe to our best friends and guards. Falsehoods or KOORRRs are sweeter than honey but they kill people in boatloads.

What gold has to do with God but Mammon? So, this...

Hi,

What gold has to do with God but Mammon? So, this Temple is for the
Mammon worshipping people such as Badal and his associates and not for the
honest people like Capt. Amerinder who was not given the Saropa.

So, what could you learn from this place? The Darkness of Mammon and that
is why hardly any one knows why Harmandir was originally built in a Pool
of water.

Editor- Harmandir Sahib is not a place for Mammon worshipping people. If dishonest people
go there then perhaps some of them will become good while others will we hope cultivate the desire.

Hello Mr Ahluwalia,

I liked your article on Divorce. Though you are right about lot of points
which lead to divorce I do want to say that in our culture divorce
rate is also increasing because of the interference of in-laws. It
can be the girl's parents or the boy's but the family interferenc has lead
a lot of couples to separate.

The Indian mother in law is still the most important as well scary person
for a new bride.

If we can all be mature and let there be some understanding in this
relationship marriages can really work and the meaning of Anand Karaj will
be understood correctly.

Reading this article brought back all the terrible memories associated
with the 1984-riots. So many people lost their lives, homes and loved ones
and so few, responsible for it have paid. But the sad fact is that even
with all our advancements and education, what happened then can very well
happen again. Nothing has changed.

This is a great article and some facts. I liked the bottom...

This is a great article and some facts. I liked the bottom where it
explains bout Sikh marriage. and by that..its true if a person understands
the whole concept of lavaan there is no way that anything like
divorce can take place. It is a great thing that Guru Sahib has given
us. Just another great blessing from our Pitta Parmeshwar...me ....proud
to be Sikh, and thank God for giving me birth in a Sikh Family.

Hi,

The First stanza of Japji is the key to understanding the rest of Sikh
Bani. If you understand the meaning of the words, "SOCHIAN SOCH NA
HOWIYAE; JAE SOCHI LAKH VAAR", then you may understand the rest.

They do not know that gold and God are not compatible.

The Ghost of Indira Gandhi is very touching and beautiful. As a Sikh who has many non-Sikh friends who in their hearts feel that the riots were justified, you've renewed my faith in humanity. Thank you.

Sat Sri Akal. I am writing to encourage you to send out a message to
all members of the Sikh community concerning the outrage discussed below
I think it would be appropriate for Sikhs to take action on this
matter.....see below.

Someone defiled a Catholic Church in New York. While this was not a
Sikh temple, I think it is important for the Sikh community to voice its
contempt for this conduct and demonstrate its support for its fellow
Americans.

You can express your thoughts about the story below to the Chairman of
the Federal Communications Commission (the "FCC"). You can email him by
going to:

(cut and paste the link).

If you think that others should be made aware of this and should voice
their concerns to the Chairman of the FCC, then please pass on this
email. A CNN story relating to this matter appears below.
====================================================
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- FCC Chairman Michael Powell ordered an
immediate investigation Thursday into a campaign by Viacom's WNEW-FM
radio station in New York in which people were urged to have sex in
public
places.

Shortly after the probe was ordered, the station announced it had
canceled the program that pushed the stunt.

Three people face criminal charges after a couple -- encouraged by
"shock jocks" going by the names Opie and Anthony -- chose New York's
St. Patrick's Cathedral for sex. They were arrested along with a station
employee who was broadcasting an account of the incident.

"Today Commissioner Michael Powell has ordered the enforcement bureau
of the commission to proceed immediately with a prompt investigation of
this matter," an FCC spokesman said in a prepared statement.

Another commissioner, Michael Copps, suggested that the FCC consider
revoking WNEW-FM's license. That would be an unprecedented step -- the
FCC, in recent times, has never taken a station away from a major media
company. WNEW-FM bills roughly $19 million per year, and is worth in the
neighborhood of $150 million, according to radio analysts.

The station was already in trouble with the FCC for alleged indecency
on the "Opie and Anthony" program. The FCC in June moved to fine the
station $21,000 for three broadcasts the commission found to be
"patently offensive," including one audio mix that "inescapably refers
to oral sex between a daughter and her father."

Viacom referred questions on the matter to its Infinity Broadcasting
subsidiary, which issued this prepared statement:

"WNEW and Infinity Broadcasting do not in any way condone the actions
that took place last week. We have taken steps to ensure that this type
of incident does not happen again. The station's general manager and
program director have been suspended, and no new 'Opie and Anthony'
shows will be broadcast while the matter is reviewed. Once again, we
apologize to all of those who were offended."

Later, the radio station issued a statement saying, "Based on recent
events, 'The Opie and Anthony Show' has been canceled, and will be
replaced by other programming beginning tomorrow."
