In reading GB Singh's Biblical God article in which C. Dennis McKinsey waxes lyrical on God and violence, I am reminded of what a teacher once told me that the hardest people to teach are those that think they already know. Nothing blinds us more than an attitude of "I have nothing more to learn". Why throw seeds onto concrete?

In the spirit of open debates, I am indebted to my younger brother Jaspal Singh who showed the courage by responding to my critical article on the Biblical God (BG). In addition he sought the help of J.P. Holding (I understand his real name is different) and Glenn Miller to refute rather serious charges leveled against BG. While I acknowledge Jaspal’s written part as minimal, however, Holding’s and Miller’s “responses” are hardly the answers to the challenging questions raised in my article on slavery.

Mr. J. P. Holding, a librarian whose real name is Robert Turkel, uses much of his space devoted to Mr. C. Dennis McKinsey for personal insults and ad hominem attacks. He characterizes Mr. McKinsey as “having a hatred of all things religious”, of being “extremely irrational, so much so that other atheists and skeptics have rejected him.” This latter assertion is totally unsupported by a scintilla of evidence, and is factually untrue.

G. B. Singh has described the attributes of Biblical God (Issue No.21, August 2005) from the Bible and the Hebrew texts whereas Reverend Tony Zekveld has used the writings and interpretation of others (Hindus and Christians) to describe Guru Nanak’s God. Aad Guru Granth Sahib is the only authentic source of Nanakian philosophy (Gurmat) and not what others have written about it. Rev. Zekveld’s article contains several erroneous statements and misinterpretations. It is beyond the scope of this brief reply to respond to all of them, therefore, I am responding only to a select few.
