Happy New Being
John W. Cargile
“No one can see the Kingdom of God without being born again.” John 3:3 (NRSV)
New Year’s resolutions are made, but mostly broken early on after making some sort of commitment, but there is one resolution that can never be broken, and that is being born again in the Spirit and, for Christians, of water (baptism)”.
All the world religions have some facet of ultimate attainment or arrival, enlightenment, nirvana, liberation or being born again.
One thread of truth is evident in all of these, and that is the attainment of God-Mind, or Universal Consciousness.
Does God therefore exist in the head or mind?
As a metaphysician, the answer is that if you exist, then God exists. You existed before the beginning of time, and exist in the eternal. We’re reminded of this in the old adage that we are not human beings on a spiritual journey, but a spiritual being on a human journey.
Being born into this physical world we were created in the image or mirror of God, God-Mind, Universal Consciousness, and it is our spiritual awakening, enlightenment or being born again in Spirit that gives our human life the new being that we all strive to attain.
Jesus taught these great Truths, and so has other Truth seekers.
God-Mind, Universal Consciousness or being born again into that spiritual new being is attained through prayer and meditation.
If a person turns their life over to the Presence of God, life then becomes a series of upward steps, as a person ascends a stairway to the Kingdom of Heaven or Higher Self-Awareness of Universal Life.
There are many meditative techniques that you can use.
Mystics through the ages have taught that the upper center of the body next to the heart is our spiritual center. Sensitivity to this psychic center is referred to as chakra in yoga teachings, and brings about the experience of merging your personal self with the ultimate self, or God, as a field of infinite light.
Before sensitizing yourself to this mystical center, you might listen to a beautiful meditation tape. You can find them on the Internet, or buy them in music stores. Dr. Deepak Chopra, one of the great spiritual leaders in the 21st century, has two great series of tapes, “The Higher Self,” and “Magical Mind, Magical Body.”
Over the years I have found listening to subliminal tapes helps when first sensitizing before meditating; often, the music is the sound of ocean waves, or sounds in the forest and sometimes even wind and storms. Lighted scented candles can help sensitize your area of meditation. Seated with back straight, begin. After listening and relaxing your mind and body, place your hand over the area of the heart. The auric energy of your hand will stimulate the energy currents of this center into greater activity.
Close your eyes and imagine that an infinite field of light exists in you.
Next imagine that this light, as the healing presence of ultimate cause is flooding all parts of your body with its light. Feel that the entire body is a field of healing God-light presence.
Let that auric light move as your closed eyes moves the light to every area of your body, energizing it, healing it. Your are connecting with God within at this point, so let go and let your God-Mind do the rest. Pray this prayer with me.
The light of God surrounds me;
The love of God enfolds me;
The power of God protects me;
The presence of God watches over me;
Where I am, God is!
